Connection and Calm
for Body and Soul
Somatically-informed Integrative Counselling
Do you feel stuck, stressed, drained and depleted? Numb one minute, then overwhelmed and activated the next? Maybe your relationships or work are suffering, and you wonder how to find your way back to yourself?
You may understand why certain things are hard for you, but still feel unable to calm your nervous system, release the sensations trapped in your body, or behave differently.
If you have been looking into ways to support yourself, you may like the idea of talking therapy, but also want help that acknowledges your body, as well as your mind.
My counselling and therapy approach seeks to create awareness around emotions and thoughts through gentle curiosity, whilst also taking moments of pause to notice how they have landed in the body. Working out where patterns and blockages can be felt and released through helpful resources like breathwork, grounding, tracking, tapping, self-contact and powerful visualizations. Creating new ways of coping, so that you can find your way forward, from a calm centre. I am also trained in additional creative and body-focused tools like Mindfulness, EFT (tapping) and Drawing and Talking.
I have a background in working with local women's centres, drug and alcohol services and low-cost counselling agencies, supporting adults around issues like low-self esteem, neurodiversity, trauma, addiction, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, bereavement, and a range of mental health difficulties, through therapeutic groups and individual sessions.

Toolkit & Blog
You may be in the beginning stages of researching different therapy options, and wondering whether I might be a good fit for you. Or perhaps we have already been working together for some time. Either way, I would encourage you to check out my blog and catalogue of videos, which give useful information around my way of working, trauma and the rhythm of therapy, as well as somatic tools to calm your nervous system, and release trapped activation energy.
Please note that Cat Teasdale Counselling is not a crisis service. If you feel in deep distress please contact your GP or Samaritans in the first instance, and keep yourself safe.
