Connection and Calm
for Body and Soul
Somatically-informed Integrative Counselling
Do you feel unsure of yourself, with low self-esteem and a wobbly sense of identity? Perhaps moving between numbing and activation, feeling stuck and powerless? Are your relationships or work suffering? Are you stressed and depleted?
Perhaps you like the idea of counselling, but also sense that you need support that has a wider view - that doesn't solely focus on your mind and your thoughts, but on all of you.
You may already understand why certain things feel hard for you, but still feel unable to calm your nervous system or release that constant feeling of activation or exhaustion.
My counselling and therapy approach seeks to create awareness around emotions and thoughts through gentle curiosity, whilst also taking moments of pause to notice how they have landed in the body. Working out where patterns and blockages can be felt and released through resources like breathwork, grounding, tracking, tapping, self-contact and powerful visualizations.
I have a background in working with local women's centres, drug and alcohol services and low-cost counselling agencies, supporting adults around issues like low-self confidence, differences due to neurodiversity, nervous system activation or numbing, substance misuse, domestic violence, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, and a range of mental health difficulties, through therapeutic groups and individual sessions.

I now offer in-person and online counselling and therapy sessions to private adult clients from a room at Newent Osteopaths, a relaxed and welcoming location in Newent, Gloucestershire, a short drive from the Forest of Dean, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Gloucester, with free parking nearby.

Toolkit & Blog
You may be in the beginning stages of researching different therapy options, and wondering whether I might be a good fit for you. Or perhaps we have already been working together for some time. Either way, I would encourage you to check out my blog and catalogue of videos, which give useful information around my way of working, trauma and the rhythm of therapy, as well as somatic tools to calm your nervous system, and release trapped activation energy.
Please note that Cat Teasdale Counselling is not a crisis service. If you feel in deep distress please contact your GP or Samaritans in the first instance, and keep yourself safe.
